Story of My Feelings

Why can’t we
just leave this
universe behind
and jump to one
where we are
together

To erase
a lifetime’s
worth of choices;
just gone.

We would be
free to rewrite
our story.

Two lives
that were
split and
somehow
switched
could be
reunited.

Nay!
Tis not
possible!
There is
no link
between us
and that
illusory
universe.
That is,
except
within our
own
imaginations.

Truth be told.
I’ve visited
that universe,
and that’s
why I thought
I would
share it.

It exists
within my
soul
because
I’ve been
there,
and
it will
always
be
with me.
